Summary

Recordings of you and your pet are analysed on your device and are never uploaded. You never sign up or enter an email address; the app creates an anonymous ID for your installation. The app does not track you across other apps or websites.

What stays on your device

• Audio. The microphone is used only while you record. The sound is analysed on the device and discarded; it is not saved or sent anywhere.
• Translation history and pet profiles. Stored on your device. Deleting the app deletes them.

What is sent to our server

If you allow AI-written lines, each translation sends a short text request to our server: the species, the detected mood, your app language, your pet's name if you entered one, and a random identifier for your app installation. No audio is sent. Our server keeps daily usage counters and a per-installation daily count used to prevent abuse; it does not keep the content of individual requests.

You can decline AI-written lines. The app then uses lines stored on the device and sends none of the above.

Other parties

• Cloudflare hosts our server and routes AI requests (AI Gateway).
• Google (Gemini API) writes the line. It receives the species, mood and language. It does not receive your pet's name, your identifier or any audio.
• Google Firebase (Authentication) creates the anonymous ID for your installation. It holds no name, email address or phone number.
• Sentry receives crash and error reports from the app: what went wrong, the device model and iOS version. No screenshots, names or audio are sent.
• Apple processes purchases. RevenueCat manages subscription status using that anonymous ID and your purchase history, and tells our server when a purchase starts, renews or ends.

We do not sell personal data and do not use it for advertising.

Usage events

The app reports steps such as "onboarding finished", "paywall shown" or "translation finished", with your app's random installation ID, the app version and your country. We use them only to understand which parts of the app work, never for advertising, and delete them after 90 days.

Error records

When a request to our server fails, we keep a short record for 30 days: the time, what failed, your country and app version. It holds no identifier and no content.

Children

The app is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them.

Your choices

Turn off AI-written lines in the app's settings at any time. To ask about or delete data linked to your anonymous ID, write to devmobixoft+cattranslator@gmail.com.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version will be posted here with a new date.
